Dear Parents,
The children have had such a learning packed week and we have been blown away by the perseverance they continue to show in taking on new challenges. I have really enjoy seeing this first hand and hearing about it as the teaching staff discuss the learning taking place in their classrooms. In reception, the children have been very focused on their maths learning, talking about and investigating mass. Our year 1 children have had an exciting week and I am sure that meeting Timmy was the highlight. I loved my afternoon in Green on Thursday, the children did a brilliant job of answering the big question "Who do Christians believe created the world?" I was drawn towards a buzz of excitement and anticipation in year 2 earlier this week - the learning that had captured them was a science investigation about which biscuit was the Benhall Magpie's favourite. Do you have any ideas? Ask any of our year 2 children and I am sure they will be pleased to tell you what they discovered.
It's not just the children who are learning at Benhall Infant and Pre-School, the teachers are always keen to find out more. This week, we really enjoyed Laura (our music therapist) sharing how she is using music with some of our pupils to increase self-esteem, encourage collaboration and a sense of belonging and helping children to regulate their emotions.
Finally, thank you to our fabulous reception teachers who hosted a curriculum meeting for our reception class parents this week. We have received lots of positive feedback about the evening including, "We love parenting, but hearing how you all talk in such lovely language about what else we can do with our children and how it helps them is really inspiring." We would like to say thank you to you all for attending, it was lovely to have so many of you join us and for those of you who couldn't make it this time Mrs Aitken has posted everything we shared on tapestry.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
From Miss Morris and the Benhall Team xx
