We have transitioned nicely into Year 1 and it really does help that it is still continuous provision.
We have started to research about the Amazon rainforest and have been busy creating our corridor display in teams. We have been developing our skills of using pastels, watercolours, and pens to create wonderful rainforest animals and plants. As well as this we have been counting rainforest raindrops, constructing rainforests using different construction kits and have been retelling 'Rumble in the Jungle'.
Term 1 Week 3
This week Blue Class have continued to develop their purple learner skills and have been working on endurance and perseverance. The children are really beginning to get used to improving their learning and are starting to independently do this without any support from the adults which is fabulous to see at this point in the school year.
We have been learning to create pictures with 2Publish and 2Paint this week and have been brushing up our skills of finding the correct letters on a laptop - it can be quite tricky trying to spot the different capital letters. The children have produced some very bright, colourful and wonderful pictures of the rainforest and have enjoyed creating these in pairs. As well as this the children have been working in the style of Kandinsky and have been practising to use shapes and lines to create their own 'Kandinsky style' picture. We have some truly gifted artists in Blue Class.
Don't forget our stay and play parent event on Wednesday 17th October 9am -10am where you are welcome to come in and see your child in action
