Well Term 5 started with a brilliant visit to Clearwell Caves. We all enjoyed going deep down underground and finding out lots of interesting facts from our tour guide. After the tour we had our lunch outside and got to have a play on the play area - a great day was had by all!
This led our learning into lots of exciting challenges. We have been designing and building caves with the large construction, creating cave art and silhouette pictures just like they did years ago as well as writing cave acrostic poems and investigating suitable materials for Caveman Colin to wear out when hunting!
Towards the end of the term our learning was based on the story 'Oliver's Vegetables' by Vivian French. The children loved estimating and counting garden peas, using different materials to create pictures of fruit and vegetables and working on adding detail by producing some brilliant observational drawings of fruits. Green Class also enjoyed conducting their own fruit tasting investigation where they investigated what different fruits felt, smelt and tasted like before deciding on their most and least favourite.
Of course the term had to end with a celebration and a fab time was had by all at the disco! We can't wait to see what Term 6 brings!
