Where the wild things are!
We are kicking off this term with our new theme 'Where the wild things are' and have started in the best way possible with the 'Dinosaur Dome'. Jimmy was a visitor who came with fossils that we could look at.... one was even a fossilised dinosaur poo. He told us lots of interesting facts and when we were inside the dome we got to see a dinosaur hatching on a video as well as looking at how dinosaurs became extinct.
This led us onto drawing, labelling and researching about dinosaurs. We have created silhouette pictures for our brand new book covers which look absolutely stunning. As well as this we have been suing metre sticks to measure different lengths of dinosaurs and some of us have even used 2D shapes to create our own types of dinosaurs.
We have been delving further into prehistoric times by creating dinosaur timelines and fact files. Why not ask your child what they know?
We cannot wait for the rest of the term :-)
