Well Term 5 started in true Benhall style with a visit to Clearwell caves in the Forest of Dean. We enjoyed getting on the coach and playing lots of fun games on our journey. We all had a tour guide who showed us around the cave and we found out lots of interesting facts. After the tour we had lunch and we even got to play on the play area (which we thoroughly enjoyed!)
This led our learning into lots of exciting challenges. We have been designing and building caves with the large construction, creating cave art and silhouette pictures just like they did years ago as well as writing cave acrostic poems and investigating suitable materials for Caveman Colin to wear out when hunting!
We have also focussed on the text 'Oliver's vegetables' by Vivian French. We have had a go at estimating and counting garden peas, using pencils and paints to create observational drawings of different fruit bowls and have investigated how fruit can taste and feel different. Some of us have really enjoyed digging up carrots and creating our own comic strips after innovating the story.
This term has flown by!
