Our First Day at school.
We were amazed at how grown up the children were coming into school this week. They all looked so smart in their uniforms. They found their pegs and trays and remembered where they were at the end of the session without any help. Brilliant.
Mrs Aitken told us that she had made a blackberry and apple crumble for our first day at school. She left it on the windowsill to cool down and when she came downstairs in the morning all that was left were crumbs! We had a think about what might have happened and decided it could have been a mouse, a fox, a badger or even Mr Aitken. Luckily Yellow Class had their thinking heads on and suggested making another one. That's what we did. We went on a welly walk and picked blackberries and went back to the classroom to chop apples back that Mrs Pain, Elliot and Nicole had brought in from home. We weighed ingredients and used our tickly fingers to make the crumble. We baked it in the oven and tasted it before going home - it was delicious. Mrs Richmond came in to see what we were up to and had a taste too - she loved it! Well done Yellow Class. What a busy first day at school.
