This week Indigo Class have been learning to tell the story 'Hector and the big, bad knight!' We had great fun creating our own animations retelling the story using the learn pads!
We have also been doing lots and lots of measuring! We explored length, capacity and even had a go at weighing the huge amount of dragon poop that was discovered on the playground on Wednesday morning!
Whilst exploring capacity, some of the children even started their own investigation! When a container overflowed they tried to catch the drips using lots of different sized containers. We predicted which container would fill up first and discussed whether or not they would all collect the same amount of water. We compared the amount of water collected afterwards by measuring it in millilitres.
We have also been very busy celebrating the Hindu festival of Diwali this week! We listened to the story of Rama and Sita, made our own diwa lamps, created our own firework displays and rangoli patterns and some had a go at writing the story themselves!
Next week we will be:
* Planning and writing our own 'Hector and the big, bad knight' stories
* Telling the time (Quarter past, quarter to and to the nearest 5 minutes)
* Identifying, describing and comparing 2D shapes
* Learning about the basic needs and life cycles of animals
* Sending an email!
