Happy New Year and welcome back! J
The children came back to school full of beans and wanting to share what they had been up to so we started with a circle time sharing our news. They then wrote independently about their half term.
We have launched into our new topic ‘Up, Up and Away’. The children came up with some brilliant ideas about what they would like to learn about over the coming weeks which we will be trying to fit in as much as possible.
Yesterday, the children started Forest School with Mrs Stephens which we were very excited about! They will now have Forest School every other Thursday until Easter.
In Maths this week, we have begun looking at multiplication as repeated addition. The children grouped numbers of objects into smaller groups of 2, 5 or 10 and used this to create a repeated addition sentence. We will be extending this further next week by continuing repeated addition, multiplication number sentences, arrays and word problems.
Next week in Green Class:
*Multiplication (repeated addition, writing number sentences, arrays)
*Writing a story set in the rainforest
*Learning about animals and their habitats
