Welcome to Term 4!
We are blasting off into space this term...
The children got very scientific this week, to investigate what happens to 'space dust' when you add water... They found that it wasn't quite a solid and it wasn't quite a liquid, but something in between! They had great fun getting messy and exploring the gloop outside.
We have been finding out about an astronaut's life in space, including how they eat, sleep and brush their teeth! This has provided some good inspiration for our writing.
In Maths, we have been naming 2D and 3D shapes. We practised naming the shape properties and made some shape nets.
On Thursday, we had a visit from the space dome, which really helped to bring our space topic to life!
Here's what we will be learning next week:
* Finding out about key space events and ordering them in a timeline
*Exploring the sculpture art by Giacometti and making our own astronaut sculptures
*Writing our very own astronaut story
*Telling the time
It's world book day on Thursday 2nd March. Please bring in a favourite book to share with the class.
