We have started off the term by looking at Jack and the Beanstalk. We looked at different fruits and vegetables that grow and then looked at the work of an Italian artist that lived along time ago. His name was Guiseppe Arcimboldo. He used lots of loose natural objects, fruits and vegetables to paint portraits.
He would pick food that had a connection to whatever he was painting. For example, when creating a picture of autumn he used fruits and vegetables that grew in autumn.
We had a go at doing our own self portraits using natural objects....
