What a week! Indigo Class have been getting better at describing the properties of 3D shapes. We have been trying to sort them in lots of different ways.
We have also been exploring poetry and all the different features poets use to add effect - rhyme, alliteration, similes, onomatopoeia, imagery, repetition and humour! Phew! We talked about our favourite poems and discussed why we liked them....the funny ones were the most popular!
After that, we needed some inspiration to write our own poems, so we took a walk around the school grounds to see what captured our interest...and we all managed to find something! Whether it was a peculiar leaf, a fancy feather or a muddy puddle, we were well and truly inspired! The children wrote some fantastic poems!
Next week we will be:
* Designing and making dragon traps!
* Exploring and writing our own explanation texts
* Getting better at subtraction using written and mental methods
* Taking part in the Multiskills festival!
