This week Green Class have continued learning all about Space and the Solar System, as well as thinking about what life would be like in Space. The children have had a go at some ‘Astronaut Training’ challenges this week to prepare them for living in Space! These included physical training by seeing how many star jumps, press ups and moon walks they could do in 30 seconds along with some co-ordination activities where the children had to complete tasks with bare hands, gloves and oven gloves to prepare for wearing a space suit! Very exciting stuff. The children used this experience to explain why they would make super astronauts.
In Maths this week the children have been focusing on 2D and 3D shapes. This has included naming shapes and their properties. Their learning has been extended by talking about lines of symmetry, and the children were challenged to make their own pictures that contained more than one line of symmetry.
Of course there has been a bit of rehearsing going on in preparation for our class performance next Thursday 16th March at 9.15am. Hope to see you all there!
Next week we will be doing some junk modelling. If you have any spare junk lying around, please send it in! Any boxes, cartons, bottles etc would be greatly appreciated!
