Achieve, Believe, Care and Dream

Week 3

In preschool for the next two weeks we are learning all about the Emergency Services, and how they help us in many different ways.
On Monday morning the children were about to do welcome, and they discovered that Teddy Benhall was missing. Mrs Perrin had a phone call from Mrs Bennett saying that she had found Teddy Benhall and that he had climbed the tree in the garden and was stuck, Oh dear what should they do?

The children had to put their thinking caps on and work out how could we get Teddy Benhall down from the tree?

Some of the children said we should use our small ladder, so Mrs Muirhead went and fetched them and put on her safety helmet. The children said we needed to hold the ladder, so as it didn't move,

Mrs Perrin held on to them and up went Mrs Muirhead to rescue Teddy Benhall.

This week we have Benhall Fire Station, always ready to help and be of service!

We had a visit from one of our parents who serves in the Army, he came in to speak to the children about what he does and he showed them some of his equipment that he uses, the children really enjoyed the visit and some of them tried on different pieces of equipment.

We had a visit from Gloucestershire Police!

The Policelady talked about how they help us all to stay safe and that they are there to help everyone and the policeman showed us a police van that they drive around in. We all looked inside it and we asked lots of questions, the policeman put the siren on and the blue flashing lights. We had a brilliant time.

In Preschool we have our own Benhall Police Station!

The children were very busy at Benhall Police station taking finger prints, studying them closely and keeping law and order!!!

Mrs McTaggart from Greatfield Park School came to visit one of our children who is starting there in September, they shared some time together.
