We have had an amazing week learning about planes! Our trip to the airport on Monday was a great success. Thank you very much to our parent helpers - we couldn’t have done it without you! The children had a great time watching the planes take off and land.
So the big project this week has been to design and make our very own plane! The children thought about how to make the wheels and we discussed whether they needed to have a fixed or moving axle. Then the challenge was to make a propellor that could spin around. We are very proud of their creations.
We had a great afternoon on Tuesday learning about algorithms. We had to program planes to fly across the world to different destinations. Everyone is getting very good at giving precise instructions and debugging when something goes wrong.
In Maths, we have been getting better at solving missing number problems. We have found that we can use ‘difference’ or ‘inverse’ to help us.
Have a lovely half term everyone! See you next term when we will be jetting off into SPACE!
