We have had a brilliantly busy week finishing off our ‘Up, up and away!’ topic! Of course the highlight of the week has to be the helicopter landing on the school field! The children had a brilliant time watching it land and then later exploring, finding out lots from the pilots about how the helicopters work and what they are like to fly.
Thank you to all of the effort that was put in to the Busy Bees homework this term – the children had a great time showing off their brilliant efforts on Tuesday afternoon. Thank you to everyone that came along to our parent event on Tuesday – we hope you enjoyed your nest making!
This week the children have been talking about the Easter Story and why it is an important time of year for Christians. The children have blown me away with all of the information they know about Easter and have been willing to share this with the class. As the weather has been getting better, we have focused a lot on Spring this week! The children have written ‘Spring’ acrostic poems, made spring pictures using a variety of techniques and materials and have told and written spring stories – lots of brilliant learning going on!
In Maths this week we have been focusing on place value and have been discussing the value of each number in single digit and 2-digit numbers. This will carry on into next term, where we will be looking further at how to solve problems.
Green Class have had such a busy but brilliant term and are all looking forward to a lovely Easter break! We hope you had a fabulous two weeks and can’t wait to hear all about what you have been up to when we return.
Have a brilliant Easter break! J
