Dear Parents and Carers,
I am Marijana Filipovic-Carter, and I have been appointed as the Benhall Family Support Coordinator. My job is to help families with issues that might not necessarily be seen as educational but can have a significant impact on children and their learning. The aim is to support you so that you can help your children achieve their potential and enjoy school.
I am here to chat over any issues or concerns regarding your child’s behaviour and their social and emotional development. These may include your children’s reactions to significant life changes such as starting school or preschool, moving home or school, arrival of a sibling and similar. I can also help you manage your child’s worries, anxiety, anger, tantrums and meltdowns, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, issues with siblings, jealousy, withdrawal, morning and evening routines... Whatever the issue, no matter how “big” or “small” it seems – I am ready to listen and talk in a friendly and supportive manner. If I don’t have an answer, hopefully I can help you to work out how to find it elsewhere.
Apart from providing this 1-1 support, I will be running a number of online support sessions. More information will follow, but please do get in touch if you already have any ideas regarding topics you’d like to hear more about.
How can you find me?
I will be at the main school gate every Thursday at drop off and pick up times available for quick chats. I am also available for appointments during school hours on Thursdays.
You can contact me on
email@example.com to arrange a meeting.
I would normally meet you at school but because of Covid-19 measures our meetings, at least for the time being, will have to be done over the phone/zoom/skype, or via email, whichever works best for you. Please feel free to say Hello when you see me even if there are no issues to discuss! 😊
Resources, links, information...
On this page you will also find different resources that might help you with supporting your children's social and emotional development. I will try to update it as often as possible, adding the most up-to-date information and links from trusted and research based sources.
